Cooperative Council of Missionary Education. The records in this group were gathered from various places in the Society's collection and brought together into a coherent record group.

A Committee on Missionary Education was authorized in 1934 just after the merger of the Reformed Church in the United States and the Evangelical Synod in North. The purpose of the Committee was to coordinate the efforts of the Board of International Missions, the Board of National Missions, the Board of Christian Education and Publication in their efforts to educate the larger church about all the mission undertakings of the denomination.

To strengthen the Committee's work it was changed to the Cooperative Council of Missionary Education in 1937. Its duties were: to plan for and carry out cooperatively the integration of the missionary elements into a tital coordinated education program; to assist in integrating and coordinating the missionary educational work of local church organizations; to provide source materials; to cooperate in promoting the missionary objectives of the Boards and Auxiliary Organizations of the Church; to experiment in special fields and areas; to cooperate in providing missionary education in conferences, institutes, summer schools, and camps; to cooperate with Kingdom Service Agencies. The Rev. David D. Baker was called as the first director of the Council.
