Biographical / Historical

The South Indiana Synod of the Evangelical & Reformed Church was organized on April 11, 1939, at Salem Evangelical and Reformed Church in Louisville, Kentucky. The Synod remained under this organizational structure until realignment between the South Indiana Synod, the Michigan-Indiana Synod, and the Indiana Conference of Congregational of Christian Churches occurred during the years 1959-1963. On May 2, 1963, the Indiana Conference of Congregational Christian Churches and the South Indiana Synod united into the newly organized Indiana-Kentucky Conference of United Church of Christ.
