Biographical / Historical

The founders of Hain's Church came to the community by way of Philadelphia after coming from Schoharie, New York. The first church was built of logs in 1735. The second structure was of limestone and was built in 1766. A major addition was completed in 1878. Early pastors included: John Conrad Templeman, Samuel Guldin, Francis Layenberger, John Philip Boehm, John Henry Goetschi, Jacob Lischy, Frederick Casimir Miller, and John Henry Decker.
