Biographical / Historical

In 1782 the Rev. John William Weber answered a call to serve the Reformed residents of Western Pennsylvania. He organized First Reformed Church of Greensburg in 1796. The congregation was a daughter church of Harrold's congregation. The first building was a log structure on the corner of Third and Main Streets that served a Lutheran and Reformed union. A brick church was begun in 1815 and completed in 1819. The union was dissolved in 1882 and the Reformed congregation built a church at the corner of Third Street and Maple Avenue.
