Biographical / Historical
In 1881 the Rev. J.B. Kniest, D. D., was commissioned to organize a congregation in N. E. Buffalo. It wasn't until 1883 that the first congregation formed. It began in the home of Karl Spors. The Church was erected in 1895. Emanuel was the first Church established on Humbolt Parkway. It was often referred to as "The Park Church". Emanuel UCC merged with Calvary UCC in 1975 to become Calvary-Emanuel UCC. This church closed in 1994 Pastors who served include: 1884-1908 Jacob Stover 1909-1913 Frederick W.
