Lykens Valley Charge (Dauphin Co., PA)

The Lykens Valley Charge was composed of Peace Church, Berrysburg; St. Peter's (Hoffman's) Church, Lykens, RD.; Salem Church, Elizabethville and Simeon's Church, Gratz. In 1973 the charge was dissolved. Pastors who served this charge include:

A log church was built in 1792, and in 1887, a new church building was erected. The church burned in 1958, and a new brick building was constructed in 1959. In 1912, a pipe organ was purchased, and in 1932, the interior of the church was redecorated. In 1969, Simeon's merged with the Lutheran Church. Manley Layman Peace Church, Berrysburg, formerly known as Union Salem Church and Salem Church, is a union church. The first church building was erected in 1844 and renovations took place in 1873.
