Biographical / Historical
The church was organized in 1894 as the First Magyar Reformed Church. In 1896, Rev. Alexander Kalassay was elected as the first pastor. In 1903, Rev. Ernest Komjathy was elected as the second pastor. In 1904, Rev. S. Harsanyi was elected the third pastor. After Rev. Alexander Ludman (fourth pastor in 1910-1915, 1916-1940) left, his successor was Rev. Sigismund Laky in 1915. An independent congregation, Fairfield Church, was birthed from this church in 1926 with Rev. Urban as pastor. Also in 1926, Rev. Nicholas Varkonyi served as assistant pastor during the illness of Rev. Ludman. The first service in English was held in 1938. In 1940, Rev. Emil Nagy, Jr. became pastor
