The Friedens Reformed Church collection consists of one box containing FINANCIAL RECORDS (ANNUAL STATEMENTS), CHURCH RECORDS, PASTORAL CORRESPONDENCE, LEGAL AND BUSINESS RECORDS (ARTICLES OF AGREEMENT, ARTICLES OF INCORPORATION, DEEDS).

Biographical / Historical

The congregation was organized in 1808 as a union church, Reformed and Lutheran. In 1847, a Reformed congregation was organized by J.H. Gachenheimer and D.B. Earnest.The church was first a part of the Somerset Charge until 1858, then the Beams Charge and later the Stoyestown Charge. Pastors: Rev. Gresse 1814-1835, I.G. Ibbeken 1835-1844, D.B. Earnest 1844-1847, I.D. Gochenheimer 1847-1850, C.F. Hoffmeire 1852-1857, Frank H. Lavan 1857-1859, William Conrad 1859-1863, H.H. W. Hibshman 1863-1864, A.J. Heller 1865-1870, H.F. Keener 1870-1875, W.H. Bates 1876-1879, J. Wagner 1879-1883, William LeFever 1883-1890, D.O. Shoemaker 1891-1893, Frank Wetzel 1893.
