Biographical / Historical

First Reformed Church dates from June 30, 1833. It was originally composed of members of the Reformed Church who had come from the Eastern States, many from Frederick County Maryland. Two buildings had been erected, the first begun in 1834 and finished in 1847. In 1860-1861 a newer building was erected on the site of the old building. There were four departments of the Sunday School: a Woman's Missionary Society; and a Young People's Society of Christian Endeavor. In 1925-1926 First Reformed Church merged with Grace Reformed Church to form Trinity Reformed Church.
