Biographical / Historical

St. Jacob's Church was organized in 1818 with Cyrus Becker ministering to the Reformed and F. W. Meendsen to the Lutheran congregations. It was temporarily used as a morgue during floods in the mid-19th century. In 1893 the Reformed bought out the Lutheran interest, ending the union.
