Biographical / Historical
Yocum's congregation began worshipping in the Angelica Schoolhouse, an octagonal stone structure built prior to 1822. Thomas Leinbach began preaching and teaching there in 1823. A union church was built in 1854. Extensive repairs were made to it after a storm on May 14, 1890. In 1982 Yocum's merged with St. Matthew's Reformed Church, Reading, PA. to form St. Luke's, Kenhorst, PA. In 2004 St. Luke's merged with St. Stephen's Church, Reading, and became One United Church of Christ, 1730 New Holland Road, Kenhorst, PA 19607.
