Biographical / Historical

The Dreisbach congregation, in what was then Northumberland County, was organized in 1771. A union church, it was known as the United Congregation in East Buffalo Township. The Reformed and Lutheran congregations built a log church in 1788 on land purchased from Martin Dreisbach. It was replaced by a brick structure in 1839 that later was deemed unsafe and condemned. A new church was built in 1860. In 1963 the union was dissolved and ground was broken for an addition to the church that would include a new sanctuary. It was completed in 1964.
