Biographical / Historical

St. John's Church was organized in 1837. The first church was constructed of logs, but was replaced in 1846 by a frame building. A brick building was erected in 1921. It was a union church until 1965 when the Lutherans built a separate church. St. John's UCC and Jerusalem UCC formed Shenango Charge until 1984 when each church chose its own pastor after the retirement of the Rev. J. Miles Walthour. St. John's withdrew from the UCC in 1997 and is now known as Christ Community Church.
