Biographical / Historical

The first log church shared by Reformed and Lutheran congregations was erected in 1740 and stood until 1753 when a stone structure was built. A third edifice was built and shared by both congregations until 1850 when a third building was built that could seat 700 people. It served the congregation for 58 years. A vote for separation was taken Dec. 8th 1906 and in 1907 two large (twin) granite churches were built to hold the separate congregations. Reformed Pastors who served; Rev.
