The Zion Church collection consists of Lutheran church record transcriptions, 1818-1826, 1843, 1850, by the Revs. Johann Wilhelm Heim and Jacob Martin.

Biographical / Historical

The Rev. William Heim organized Zion Lutheran congregation in 1815. A stone church was consecrated in May, 1817 by Revs. Heim and Walter for the Lutheran congregation and Rev. Helffenstein for the Reformed congregation. A brick church was dedicated on February 24, 1867. In 1897 it was decided to dissolve the union, at which time the Lutherans bought the building.
