Biographical / Historical

Evelyn J. Aurand was graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School, Washington, DC, 1945 and received a B.A. degree from Hood College in 1949. After years as a Lutheran pastor's wife, she taught school in Columbia, Lancaster County, PA. to earn money for her own seminary education. She received an MAR degree from Lutheran Theological Seminary, Gettysburg, 1968 and an M. Div. degree from Lancaster Theological Seminary, 1974. She was ordained October 20, 1974 at Calvary Church, Reading. In 1977 she was called to St. James UCC, Limerick, PA. In 1984 she was called to Epler's Church in Leesport, PA. She was active in Penn Southeast Conference and served as a delegate to General Synod in 1983, 1985, 1991 and 1993. She retired in 1992 (?) and became a member of St. John's (Hain's) UCC in 2002. She has three children: Mary Evelyn Aurand Brown, Martin H., and Mark D.
