Biographical / Historical
Raymond C. Kuhlenschmidt was born August 13, 1925 in Elberfeld, Indiana, the son of Frederick William and Minnie Wiggers Kuhlenschmidt. He graduated from Evansville College in 1951 and married Norma Jean Koch September 9, 1951. In 1954 he graduated from Eden Seminary and was ordained July 25 of that year. He accepted a call to Byron E&R Church, Xenia, Ohio. Subsequent pastorates included: Immanuel UCC, Bromley, Kentucky, 1957-1963; Speed Memorial Church, Speed, Indiana, 1963-1980; Zion UCC, New Baden, Illinois, 1980-1988. He traveled to Japan on two occasions as part of an evangelistic program sponsored by the Interboard Committee for Christian Work in Japan. He also served on the UCC Board for World Ministries.
