Ruof, Richard Alan (1932-2010)

Richard A. Ruof was born in Lancaster, PA Oct. 11. 1932, the son of Robert C. and Geneva M. Ruof. He graduated from Lancaster Theological Seminary in in 1958 and obtained an M. Div. degree from Union Theological Seminary, Richmond, VA in 1960. He later received his S.T.M. and D. Min. degrees from Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg and McCormick Seminary in Chicago, respectively. He was ordained at Emmanuel UCC, Fishers Hill, VA in 1960, after which he served the following pastorates: Harrisville Charge,Toms Brook, Virginia 1960-1962; Thurmont Charge, Thurmont, Maryland 1962-1967; First Congregational Church, Cortland, New York 1967-1977; St. Paul's United Church of Christ of Hamlin, Fredericksburg, Pennsylvania 1977-1982; St. John's UCC, Egg Harbor City, New Jersey 1982-1987; St. John's UCC, Friedensburg, Pennsylvania 1987-1994; supply at St. Paul's UCC, Mahony City, Pennsylvania (Mahanoy) 1995; Salem UCC, Donaldson, Pennsylvania 2002-2005. He died Feb.10, 2010 in Auburn, PA.
