Biographical / Historical

In 1953 the Benevolent Society of the South Wisconsin Synod of the Evangelical and Reformed Church received a gift of the Cedar Lake property. It was an educational and retreat facility until 1957 when the Cedar Lake Home for the aging and handicapped was built. In 1969 the first houses for village retirement living were erected. Cedar Ridge Retirement Campus in the city of West Bend was opened in 1986 and offers apartment living for retirees. Cedar Valley Campus in the town of Wayne, dedicated in 1987, offers educational and retreat programs.
