Biographical / Historical
Oak Creek United Church of Christ was organized by members of Fair-Lea and Central U.C.C. churches who came south to begin the new church. Groundbreaking took place February 2, 1964. Marcus S. Buehrer preached his 1st sermon on May 3, 1964. Rev. C. Thomas Jackson was called as Associate Pastor from 1965-1968 was called as chaplin in the Vietnam war and given a military leave of absence, he returned in 1969-1970. Rev. Warren G. Barr called as Assistant Pastor from 1968-1969. Rev. David H. McLane became assistant Pastor 1970-1972. Rev. Steven W. Hecky Assistant Pastor 1972-1975. Rev. Marcus Buehrer 1964-1975.
